Be realistic with your expectations!

Be realistic with your goals for a lush weed free lawn,
if this isn't a nice enough stand of turfgrass for you,
then you're probably better off with a chemically maintained lawn.

In the beginning

Excessive thatch build-up, alot of dog-spot, compacted soil, and a spot of some junk loam that never germinated grass seed the year before were the initial obstacles I faced in April of 2009.
This picture is taken from my roof to give a broad overview of just how bad things were.
I knew I wanted to document my progress to prove that organic lawn care is essentially easier and can be cheaper in the long term than conventional chemical methods.
So this is my starting point.  It really can only go up from here.

Half way there.

Here's the same spot in Mid June.  This is after one compost tea application, an aeration and an over-seeding.

The month of June brought us 27 days with rain as you can see from the drops on the camera lens.  This made for perfect conditions for seed germination, but not much else.
