The Lawn Dude is a new
company with an organic approach to lawn care. Making compost is how
it all began, but providing customer with the knowledge and foundation
to maintain their landscape without the use of chemicals was always a
goal of mine.
After sitting in on
three Paul Tukey Organic Lawn Care lectures, one Chip Osbourne Living
Lawn lecture, and speaking in depth with many turf professionals, I
learned what needed to be done to establish lush green turf naturally,
and without breaking the bank. While speaking myself at a New England
flower show about organic landscape management, I realized that I had
been asked the same few questions over and over again...
- What is a "core aeration?"
- How do you properly make compost tea?
- How do you "top-dress" a lawn with compost?
- How do you control nuisance lawn weeds naturally?
So I realized what I had to do, let the customer take care of the mowing and everyday care, but provide the occasional service or consult to achieve a naturally vibrant green lawn. I find that most people have the ability to produce a beautiful lawn themselves, when given the knowledge necessary to do so.
